Michele is excited about the new approach.

We went to the local lumbar yard and sourced the plywood squares, then headed to the library, arriving just before opening.

Today we wear our official studioGH garb, as we work in open & active library. πŸ‘

Interjection:

Librarians are the best. Before we arrived at the library just before it opened, Marilyn was calling Michele with new, validated information based on original 1st-person research. She contacted the structural engineer for the project (from 10 years ago) and learned that the concrete at the bottom of the planks is 2-1/2 inches thick. We can put holes anywhere.

Thanks Marilyn, information maven!

Here is where the glass (& reflections & shadows) will go:

Making the 1st holes in the A.C.T. …

… and then hanging the 1st piece in this location.

1st piece up at the central location:

Here’s a quick time/lapse installing one piece:

Michele consulting with Marilyn on the design:

Still a lot to do, but it’s time for dinner.

Kamal (the chef at Relish) made us dinner at the resturant one block away from the library. It was among the very best food that we have had on any of our StudioGH excursions.

Now back to work! We want to finish by noon tomorrow (Kamal invited us for lunch @ 12:30 – even tho’ he does not open until 5:00).

Some nice high energy (and colorful) treats awaited us on our return after dinner!

We put up a couple birds in the center section and then moved to complete the dichroic glass in the east corner.

it came out like this:

Placing birds:

After placing a few other birds in strategic places around the library, we will be all done, except for cleaning up and packing.

With that done we retired, locking up the library at about 2:00am.
